Ceptimmun s 360 mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called immunosuppressants. It is used with other medicines to prevent your body from rejecting an organ (such as a kidney, heart or liver) after a transplant. It works by supressing your bodys immune system, so that it does not attack the new organ.

The amount of Ceptimmun s 360 mg Tablet you take and how often you take it depends on the type of transplant you have. Follow your doctors instructions on this. You should take it on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Swallow it as a whole, do not crush, chew or break it. Take the medicine regularly to get the maximum benefit and keep taking it even if you feel well. If you stop taking it, you may increase the chances of rejecting your transplanted organ. The treatment will continue for as long as you need it to prevent rejection.

The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, headache, high blood pressure and changes in the number of white blood cells. You may catch more infection than usual as medicine suppresses the immune system. There is also an increased risk of developing some cancers for this reason. To reduce your risk of skin cancer, limit your exposure to the sun and use sunscreen. There is a long list of potential side effects with this medicine. You should ask your doctor about them and what signs to look out for because some of them can be serious and need urgent medical attention.

Ceptimmun s 360 mg Tablet can cause birth defects and abortion so do not take it if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding. You should talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have any signs of infection or if you have any unexpected bruising or bleeding. You should also let your healthcare team know all other medicines you are taking as they may affect, or be affected by, this medicine. You will have regular tests to check for any changes in the number of your blood cells and the amount of sugar and cholesterol in your blood.

Tacrolimus salt

Uses

Tacrolimus is used with other medications to prevent rejection of a kidney, heart, or liver transplant. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as immunosuppressants. It works by weakening your body's defense system (immune system) to help your body accept the new organ as if it were your own.

How to use Tacrolimus

Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking tacrolimus and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medication by mouth with or without food, usually every 12 hours or as directed by your doctor. If you have nausea or an upset stomach, you may take this drug with food, although this may cause your body to absorb less of the drug. However, you must choose one way (with food or without food) and always take this medication the same way so that your body always absorbs the same amount of drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

If you are taking the capsules, swallow them whole. Do not open or crush the capsules.

If you are using the granules, read the manufacturer's Instructions for Use first. Use only non-plastic cups, spoons, or oral syringes when preparing or taking a dose. Do not sprinkle the granules on food. Open up the prescribed number of packets for your dose and mix the granules in a cup with 1 to 2 tablespoons (15 to 30 milliliters) of room temperature water and stir well. Drink the dose immediately. You may use an oral syringe to give the dose. Rinse the cup or syringe with the same amount of water and drink the rinse water to make sure the complete dose is taken. Do not prepare the granule mixture ahead of time. Do not save any of the mixture for later use.

Dosage is based on your weight, medical condition, blood test results (e.g., tacrolimus trough levels), and response to therapy.

Tacrolimus is available in different formulations (such as immediate and extended-release). Do not switch between different forms of tacrolimus without consulting your doctor.

Do not increase your dose or take this medication more often without your doctor's approval. Your condition will not improve any faster and the risk of serious side effects may be increased. Also, do not stop taking this medication without your doctor's approval.

Take this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. It is important to take all doses on time to keep the amount of medicine in your body at a constant level. Remember to take it at the same times each day.

Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while being treated with this medication unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Grapefruit can increase the amount of certain medications in your bloodstream. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

Since this drug can be absorbed through the skin and lungs and may harm an unborn baby, women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not handle this medication or breathe the dust from the capsules.

Inform your doctor if your condition worsens.

Azathioprine Tablets Ip

Azathioprine is a prescription medication. It comes in two forms: an oral tablet and an injectable solution.

Azathioprine oral tablet is available as the brand-name drugs Imuran and Azasan. It’s also available in a generic version. Generic drugs usually cost less than brand-name versions. In some cases, they may not be available in every strength or form as brand-name drugs.

This drug may be used as part of a combination therapy. That means you may need to take it with other drugs.

Why it’s used

Azathioprine is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It’s also used to keep your immune system from attacking a newly transplanted kidney.

When you receive a kidney transplant, your immune system views the kidney as something that doesn’t belong in your body. This may cause your body to attack the kidney, which can lead to serious health problems or death. Azathioprine is used to stop your immune system from attacking your new kidney.

In RA, your body attacks your joints, which can cause swelling, pain, and loss of function. Azathioprine is used to stop your immune system from attacking your joints.

How it works

Azathioprine belongs to a class of drugs called immunosuppressants. A class of drugs is a group of medications that work in a similar way. These drugs are often used to treat similar conditions.

Azathioprine works by decreasing the activity of your body’s immune system. For RA, this keeps your immune system from attacking and damaging your joints. For a kidney transplant, the drug keeps your immune system from attacking the newly transplanted kidney.
